Complimentary Dinner to J P Hilton, Esq, CBE - 1935
The photograph reproduced above (and the menu below) are memorabilia of a complimentary dinner held following the award of the
CBE to the BMB's first General Manager, J P Hilton. The dinner was held on February 28th 1935 in the recently opened (November 1933)
Broad Street Head Office's Assembly Hall. On the same occasion, a portrait of the General Manager commissioned by the Bank's
staff was unveiled. The portrait was subsequently hung in the Assembly Hall and a copy presented to Mr Hilton.
