After another successful season last year, winning the league for the third consecutive time, the Club

After winning the league for the last three years it was felt that it was time to concentrate our efforts on reaching the
final of the Moss Cup competition.
Our opponents in the First Round were the South West T.S.B., and with a full side and a home
tie advantage, we were confident of victory. However, the Bank eventually lost the game by 13 runs. Apart from a fine spell of bowling
by Clive Brown and a steady innings from Clive Mace, the team lacked application in chasing a relatively modest target of 133. Our
league position at present is not very strong, although we have games in hand. If the team show the form of the past three years for
the remainder of the season, there is no reason why we should not be champions for the fourth consecutive year.

CONTACT: Christmas 1977
This season of 1977 saw the club attempting to win the title for the fourth consecutive year, but the attempt was soon upset
by failure to field a full team on a few occasions. The failure to field a full team on these important dates cost the club valuable
points and therefore we had to be content with third place.
The batting was once again dominated by Robert Wilden, who scored
162 runs in six innings. Robert was given valuable assistance by one of the good younger players we have, Malcolm Glenn, who scored
156 in eight innings. The bowling this year was spread around the team. Clive Brown took 15 wickets, Bob Milne 13, Phil Willetts 10
and Ken Allen 9.
This year we lost in the first round of the T.S.B. Cup to South West T.S.B., who went on to be the eventual
winners of the Cup. The club always seems to lose to the eventual winners.
The six-a-side proved to be another source of disappointment
as we lost on the very last ball in the Final to the Executives.
Let's hope that in 1978 we will at least be able to field eleven
players in each match and thus give ourselves a chance to regain the title.
