CONTACT: Spring 1965

After the excitement of last season when the Club finished runners-up to Housing Management in the Evening League by only one point, this season's goal is obvious. Winter season training, whatever form it may take, can only have had this object in view. As a Club we therefore look forward to an enjoyable and successful season.

The highlight of our close season activities (there is only one), is the Annual Dinner held jointly with the Golfing Society. This proved most enjoyable as it always has, with both Clubs having their prizes presented by Mrs Guy.

The Cricket Club prizes were awarded as follows:-

Batting Prize..............................Maurice Eley

Bowling Prize.............................Les Bellmore

F W Parsonage Prize.................Ron Moll

Frank Kirtland Cricket Cup........Les Bellmore

The date of the Annual General Meeting will be notified in due course, and a cordial invitation to attend this meeting is extended not only to Club members, but also to any member of the Bank Staff who would like to play, or has an interest in cricket.

CONTACT: Autumn 1965

The 1965 season has been very disappointing, with matches that have been played in conditions more akin to winter sports. Five matches out of twelve were cancelled and at the end of the season, after four weeks' inactivity, the last match seemed like the first of a new season.

As can be seen from the League Table, the Club finished with 145 points in sixth position.

Tony Green is to be congratulated on finishing top of the batting averages (Average 43.0) with Roger Bunten second (Average 13). The bowling honours went to Alf Young, 17-91 runs (Average 5.3) with Maurice Eley second 10-55 (Average 5.5).

A reminder for the close season - The Annual Golfing Society and Cricket Club Dinner - date to be announced later.
