Arthur Spiers Taylor retired in November 1950 as the Bank's Assistant General Manager, having previously been the Controller of the
House Purchase Department for many years. In this December 18th 1950 photograph, the Lord Mayor (Alderman Alfred Paddon-Smith) is
shown presenting Mr Taylor (centre) with an Engrossed Bank Committee Resolution paying tribute to his long and devoted service. Arthur
Taylor joined the Bank at its inception in 1919; he was also presented with a gold watch and chain.
