Building Plans - Aston Cross Branch
Date Plans passed: September 1st 1922
Architect: Gerald McMichael
Builder:
F J Briley
The Block Plan shows the location of Aston Cross branch (marked with a red line) near the junction of Aston Road North and Rocky
Lane. An alternative
Block Plan was used to obtain the City Council's authority to purchase the property. The address of the branch
was 101 Aston Road North.
The Ground Floor Plan shows a passage on the right of the premises (behind a door in the 1923 photograph below) that gives
the tenant access to the accommodation above the branch. The space available to depositors is approximately 16-feet by 6-feet.
In 1926, the branch was extended into the adjoining premises at 99 Aston Road North.
