Squash Section

The Squash section has only been in operation since October 10th, almost a year after the Badminton section, and has been received with just as much enthusiasm.

The section has sole hire of a court at Silver Rackets Squash Centre in Pershore Street, just underneath the Ice Rink. The section meets every Wednesday evening, between 6.00p.m. and 10.00p.m., with court time booked the previous week by the players.

Once again, the standards vary between the section, and anyone who wishes to take up this fast and exhilarating game will be made most welcome. At present the section has over twenty members, but if more members can be found then extra courts may be hired and even more playing time granted to each player. The centre itself is still in the process of being completed, but when it is complete there will be a further eight courts, a gymnasium and restaurant to complement the eight existing courts, sports shop and licensed bar. What more could you ask for?

Nothing received from the Squash section but I believe they still play every Tuesday evening at Silver Rackets Centre, Pershore Street, between 6.16 – 8.15p.m.
